New Collaborations

Over the past couple of years, I have been developing my first orchestral project with support from Arts Council England DYCP fund. Through that process, I’ve learnt to write for large ensemble and have composed my first body of orchestral work, pushing my music into new creative territory. I’m so pleased with how the music has turned out and am now looking forward to releasing these compositions as a fourth album.

I am delighted to be collaborating with the Engine’s Orchestra, which has been a dream of mine now for almost a decade! I’ve loved experimenting with new musical colours and textures within this expanded lineup and hearing how the orchestra has brought my songs to life with such power and emotion. Entitled ’One Hundred Years’, the album explores themes of inequality, marginalisation and loss alongside hopefulness, friendship and the power of community.
The studio is booked for late January, but my development funding has come to an end. While rehearsal costs are covered, and I am able to self-fund studio hire and my core quartet, we’re raising £5,050 to pay the orchestral musicians fairly for the recording sessions and bring this album to life in the way it deserves.
